This weekend munzee enthusiasts were told they would get double the points awarded for any/all captures. Here amongst the south coast geocachers, the munzee craze is still gaining momentum and today it seems that most were out getting munzee captures rather than geocaches – or at least geocaching was secondary to claiming munzee’s.
Darren and I decided to hunt munzee’s all afternoon. Some munzee types reward the capture with random values ranging from 5 to 50 points. At the start of our hunt, I seemed to be getting the higher points and Darren was convinced I only brought him along to siphon off the low points! But as we ended the day he managed a couple of fifty pointers and as you can see from the Munzee Leaderboard graphic below, he finished higher than any of the local south coast geocachers….including a small group that traveled to Eugene!
