Hiking The Dunes With The CHIEF

Hiking and caching buddy Chuck Knight (geoname Chucky Chief) joined me for an afternoon hike in the dunes to hunt a brand new geocache. Would we be first to find?

We parked with about a half-mile hike ahead of us. There was a set of fairly fresh footprints going both ways on the sandy trail – this did not bode well for the chances of being the first ones to find the cache. Thankfully, these footprints did NOT belong to a geocacher – we were indeed the first to find this cache! That’s always satisfying no matter how long you’ve been geocaching.

Chuck and I needed a little more of a workout so we stopped down the road for another short dune hike and cache hunt. I had already found this cache but I enjoyed both the walk and watching him look for it.

Up! Chuck..... Up! He is about 10 feet off the ground at this point.

Thanks for the company today, Chuck!
